Christine Davidson, The Spiritual Skier
My life mission: To love, play and be awesome! I feel the most alive when surrounded by the immense raw power and staggering beauty of the mountains. They have the capacity to evoke both the most passionate reverence and the most humbling respect. I consider it such a privilege that my job entails witnessing the transformation that takes place as my students become empowered with the skills and confidence necessary to navigate these awesome giants, the Canadian Rockies.”
Christine Davidson is a CSIA Level 4 Ski Instructor, Yoga Alliance Registered 500hr Hatha Yoga Teacher and avid writer who makes her home in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Her unique blend of alignment conscious restorative yoga, myofascial release and stability training helps prevent some of the common imbalances and subsequent injuries sustained by people who like to slide on snow.
A former alpine ski racer with almost two decades experience teaching skiing Christine has found that the greatest determinant of students achieving success on snow comes from learning how to transform fear into a catalyst for peak experience or flow state. This is where yoga practice becomes a powerful tool for gaining mastery over the breath, emotions, and ultimately the mind.
Christine has designed and facilitated customized yoga for snow sports programs for the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance, Nonstop Adventure Gap Program, Alberta Alpine and numerous snow sports industry professionals.
Christine’s teaching philosophy involves providing a safe environment for students to explore new things playfully, without attachment to agendas and free from self judgement. When this happens students become their highest expression of self.
